DIGITAL PAINTINGS

Here are some digital paintings that, I have been working on for a while, I'm pretty satisfied with how they turned out. I feel that i have taken them as far as i can at my current skill level and doing anymore work on them may result in an overwork of the pieces. I'll be moving on to start creating on other paintings and hopefully get better.

LIFE DRAWING

Here are some of my life figure drawings from the past couple of years. They consist of drawings done at Berkeley Krober Hall drawing workshops and at the figure drawing marathons held at Merritt College in Oakland. I love to draw the human figure, I enjoy the complexity even though it can be daunting. This is especially true when one is faced with a difficult pose. But it can be very rewarding when you tap into the model’s gestural impulse, and then you are able to connect with that motion, and effortlessly capture their essence on paper. In days when nothing seems to work, I just try to learn from my mistakes and live to draw another day.

NASCAR RaceView Mobile '13

Earlier this year, we launched NASCAR RaceView Mobile '13 at SPORTSVISION for both iOS and Android. Raceview is real-time 3D simulation that enables the user to track their favorite driver in a virtual environment. It was created using Maya and Unity 3D. Here are examples of some the low polygon 3D models and environments that I modeled.

MASTER STUDY OF BRIDGMAN

Here are a few pages of drawings from when I made master copies from Bridgman's Constructive Anatomy. I learned a lot from this process and would recommend it to any artist who wants to gain a solid foundation of human artistic anatomy. Bridgman's drawings are not detailed like other anatomy books because he strips out the noise and focuses on what is important. You will begin to comprehend the shapes of the muscles and bones and their relationship to each other. Furthermore, you will start seeing these shapes and relationships in the underlining structure of your life models, which can be a great breakthrough in your figure drawings.
